Castellare di Castellina Chianti Classico 2010
* *_HALF-BOTTLE_*This Chianti is brilliant ruby red with an ample bouquet of violets, iris and vanilla followed by deep layers of fruit on the palate. Dry and full-bodied with hints of almond and slight notes of tobacco. This is a concentrated, consistently round wine with a velvety feel and a lingering finish.

Bright aromas and flavors of violet, black currant and raspberry make this red alluring. The firm tannins bring you down to earth as this finishes firm and tobaccolike. Best from 2014 through 2023. 9,000 cases made.
The 2010 Chianti Classico is a serious wine. In this vintage, the Chianti Classico boasts gorgeous depth, richness and concentration, all supported by finessed tannins. Dark cherries, plums, spices, tobacco and licorice blossom on the energetic, mineral-infused finish. This is a great showing from a wine that captures the essence of 2010, a fabulous Sangiovese vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2020.
