Barton & Guestier Vouvray 2006
Wine Tasting Notes Pale straw and brilliant in color, this wine is pleasant and aromatic with intense floral notes (linden) and white fruit aromas (apple and pear). Initially, it is a round and soft sensation with nice freshness, intense mouth flavors, and a long fruity aftertaste.
Very good for the price. Off dry, nice minerality, crisp. Fairly simple, but good value
Very easy to drink, not too dry or too sweet
Words continue to fail to describe how infinitely drinkable this wine is. Retaining metallic and airy elements without overtly sharp or dry notes, this Vouvray moves equally well at fast and slow paces (i.e.: you can slam this mother down like Blue Ruin, but not, it should be said, because you have to). Currently only tried on its own, but my amateur opinion would hazard to guess that this vintage would - surprise! - be a delightful compliment to cheeses and warm breads.
Three and a half glasses
