Wolf Blass Red Bordeaux Blend Cabernet Merlot Red Label 2009
External Reviews for Wolf Blass Red Bordeaux Blend Cabernet Merlot Red Label
A deep red color with aromas of plum and berry. On the palate there are subtle mint and licorice flavors, with a soft mouthfeel. Complementary oak characters give this wine great structure and balance.
Blueberry aromas open up this soft, easy, highly quaffable wine. It has an abundance of fruit and just the right amount of buttery oak to make things interesting. All throughout it steers clear of the dark stuff; i.e., burnt and toasty wood or heavy fruit. What it offers instead is some strawberry and a breath of fresh air.
Dark and juicy, this is focused on its lovely currant and plum fruit, deliciously shading the finish with hints of smoke and herbs. Drink now through 2013.
Smooth and generous, with fine-grained tannins making a plush bed for ripe cherry and currant fruit, which echoes nicely on the finish. Drink now through 2004.
Soft and generous, with red cherry and black currant flavors wrapped in a blanket of slightly scratchy tannins, finishing firm. Best after 2009.
Bright ruby. Candied blackberry, dark chocolate and mint on the nose. Sweet and round in the mouth, with boysenberry, black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors and a hint of exotic oak spice. A very gentle wine with no edges, finishing sweet and supple.
A genial wine, polished and appealing for its light, pure blueberry and currant flavors on a lacy, open texture. Drink now through 2007.
