Willamette Valley Riesling 2011

Member Review by Zuiko:

This 2011 has the characteristics of an early harvest wine and in fact it was harvested between 17 and 20 Brix. Light color, simple with citrus and pear. At 9% alc it is made in the German style and is emulating a Kabinett, however that's where the similarity ends. Even though it is a nice enough wine, it is harvested too early, at least for a domestic Riesling. Germany can make this category successfully but it is rare to see it in the US.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
