Walter Hansel Pinot Noir Rubian River Valley Cahill Lane 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

91-94 points Robert Parker: Made from tiny yields, the 2009 Pinot Noir Cahill Lane comes from Dijon clones 114 and 115 and the Rochioli Selection. It reveals a slightly sweeter fruit profile along with abundant notes of black raspberries, black cherries, earth and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied and fleshy with a richer, more authoritative, deeper style than the Estate cuvee, it should drink well when released and evolve for 7-10 years. (Feb 2011)

This location is ideal for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as the nights and mornings are cooled by coastal fog yet the mid-days warm up to perfect grape ripening temperatures. Temperature swings of 40 degrees are very common. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
