A great introductory Cabernet with soft, round tannins, this is an approachable wine, not too dry, with a refreshing purity of fruit. The flavors are of dark berries - blueberry, blackberry and currant. Easy red to drink, attractive for this price range with the added bonus of being produced from organically grown grapes.
At six bucks, we'd take a tasty mouthful for fruit without complaint, but Walnut Crest takes it further, offering a peppery, varietally correct Cabernet with enough tooth to grapple with a flank steak. A by-the-case buy.
