Rich blackberry jam and big oak on the nose. Palate is super ripe and juicy with racy plum, blackberyr, black cherry and ther blue and black fruit flavors. Fresh and vibrant, ending in ripe tannins. Big taste and it feels rich and creamy on the palate. Very nice wine. 5/19/12
Bouquet of freshly turned soil, bacon grease, and roasty herbs. The palate is dense and mature with notes of roasted meat, some black pepper, and a touch of creosote. There is still a fair amount of fruit, but it's relaxed and almost stewed. Silky tannins and a strong luxurious finish. 89pts. Reviewed 09/08/2012

60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre Denner Vineyard Grenache and Mourvedre, James Berry Vineyard Syrah Willow Creek Cuvee is always a blend from our blocks at Denner and James Berry vineyards. The wine was minimally processed with the intent of letting the fruit show its fullest potential. This vintage was aged in a selection of 50% new oak and 50% second and third fill barrels. The new oak was 2/3 French from Tarrensaud, Francois Freres, and Bel Air. The remaining 1/3 new was Hungarian from Mendocino Cooperage. The wine is garnet to plum in color with expansive aromatics of raspberry, black cherry, and spice box. On the palate the wine shows a nice integration of lively acidity and tannin along with Kirsch liquor, plum, licorice, minerals, and spice. 90- Points - Wine Advocate: Perhaps the best bargain here is their outstanding 2007 Willow Creek Cuvee, a blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, and 25% Syrah. Wonderfully sweet plum, fig, black cherry, and raspberry fruit with some crushed rock/chalkiness is apparent in this fruit-driven, plush, succulent, and fleshy wine, which is medium to full-bodied and endearing to drink. This is a beauty of seduction and charm.
