Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignon Central Park West 2009
ôEven though this wine bears a New York City name, it screams Napa Valley. In 2009, we hand-picked this vineyard multiple times over more than a three week period. With these valley floor origins and warm St. Helena climate, this is an opulent, eminently drinkable Cabernet with great dark color and subtle aromas of marinated black olives, tar and dried herbs. Black cherry and plum flavors and a silky and voluptuous midpalate lead into a long, soft finish.ö
External Reviews for Trinchero Cabernet Sauvignon Central Park West
Trinchero's Central Park West Vineyard, named in a nostalgic nod to the New York City origins of the Trinchero family, is located at the southern end of the St. Helena appellation. This vineyard is a level site with deep, loamy soils, good sun exposure and excellent air circulation—the ideal situation for producing classic Napa Valley Cabernet. And this 100% Cab was aged 15 months in 75% new French oak. Robert Parker scored the 2008 90 points saying "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Central Park West (the name is apparently a tribute to the Trinchero family's home town, New York City) comes from a 22-acre vineyard planted in the deep, loamy soils of the valley floor at the southern edge of the St. Helena appellation. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by earthy, Provencal garrigue-like notes intermixed with high quality unsmoked cigar tobacco. This is the softest, easiest to drink, most precocious and evolved of the 2008 single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. Medium to full-bodied and seductive, it is ideal for drinking over the next 10-15 years."
