Terres Dorees l'Ancien Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes 2013
External Reviews for Terres Dorees l'Ancien Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes
Brilliant ruby. Displays vibrant, mineral-laced aromas of fresh red berries, floral oils and smoky minerals. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering nervy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter with air. Shows strong thrust and subtle spiciness on the finish, which is sharpened by an intense mineral kick. Give this one some air or, better yet, another couple years in the cellar.
The 2013 Beaujolais l’Ancien Vieilles Vignes, which comes from vines in excess of 40 years and sees no carbonic maceration, has a very natural, disciplined raspberry leaf and strawberry-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, pretty tart cherry fruit, and a brisk, stony, choke cherry finish. It needs to develop more flesh in bottle, fill out a little.
A supple, easy-drinking red, showing lots of black currant and blackberry flavors, with accents of violet, tea leaf and tobacco. Modest finish. Drink now.
Bright ruby. Raspberry and cherry on the nose, with complicating notes of celery seed and anise. Spicy and firm on entry, then sweeter and rounder in the middle palate, offering tangy red fruit flavors and a touch of bitter herbs. Refreshingly brisk on the finish, with the cherry and herbal notes repeating.
