Nose is dominated by toasted oak, herbs, cinnamon, chocolate. Black fruit forwardness on the body. Smooth finish.

After traveling around the region, Poirier visited Luján de Cuyo, in Mendoza. Highly impressed by the local conditions for winemaking and the presence of excellent high elevation vineyards, Poirier and Moët & Chandon decided to set up its first ever vineyards outside France. After decades of experiencing with sparkling wines production, in 1999, Moët Hennessy Wine Estates and Bodegas Chandon Argentina opened Terrazas de los Andes Winery - a varietal still-wines initiative based on its emblematic high-elevation vineyards, fed by the Andes meltwater. dark currants and dark fruit and dark cocoa, some spice on the palate, huge, needs more time and will be even better!

Loved this wine! Fantastic nose that is so inviting with slight earth intertwined with dark berry. Smooth medium bodied mouthfeel with incredible balance. Layers of flavor with hints of herb and plum with mature tannins. Herbal finish leaving you wanting more.

Brilliant color in good sunlight. Ruby leaning to purple. It's Malbec all the way on the nose. Very plummy and woody. Plum and black/blue berry skin, along with rich wood, some earth, char and iron aromas. Richly aromatic fruit with crushed, macerated and liquered blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry and marionberry. Rich and thick on the palate and very dark. Toasty, charred wood leads with notes of flinty, iron minerality. It's fleshy and concentrated and possesses nice acid to balance heavy tannin. New leather nuances with black and purple plum, blackberry, blueberry and other dark purple fruits. Some black pepper notes as well. It's a dense, powerful and dry wine. Calls for food, so I shall make a sirloin now. 91 pts. 4/17/13

not sweet but fruity. Not that smooth. Good with hard cheese

Very powerful black fruited wine, needs some decanting time and is terrific with food, especially a hard cheese that can match the strength.

Tasting Notes:

With its deep, intense purple color, this inviting wine practically oozes aromas of wild black fruits like blackberries, and red fruits like plums and cherries. Secondary aromas include spices and flowers, like violets and mint. Secondary notes of black chocolate, vanilla and smoky tones are clearly present, brought out by aging in Oak. This wine is known for being complex but still balanced, lively and fresh, due to a well-integrated acidity. Robust, structured, with a lingering finish in the mouth.
