Tenuta la Fuga Attanosio Brunello di Montalcino 2003
Brunello di Montalcino La Fuga is a deep ruby red in color with purple highlights. It shows an intense bouquet scented with aromas of red berries offset by notes of leather and incense which are confirmed on the palate. The flavors are bold and focused, supported by firm, elegant tannins of moderate intensity.
The nose is merely a suggestion: very light earth, dill, and just the quietest whisper -- nearly just the thought -- of cherries. More refreshing in the mouth than I'd have guessed; good acid, smack-y tannins.
Had it again, and I still feel the same way about it. There's some kind of chemical vegitativeness that doesn't pass the dander. There are some good things about it, I like the blackfruits and cherry aspects.
Really closed on the mouth and nose, very green and vegetative. A bit of wood. I did not enjoy much.
Good, earthy and barnyard aromas. Red fruit and good structure and mellow acidity. Hearty tannins grace the finish.
Mellow, cherry, spice and cedar box aromas. Floral and clean. Cherry cola and spice flavors, great structure, and some chocolate.
interesting rustic color, dried earthiness, tea leaves and cherries on the nose with a little red spice/currant, rustic earthy spicy bramble on the palate as well with red fruit trying to seep through, acidity nice with medium level of tannins, finish is enjoyable.
My second encounter with this one. Love it just as much as I did back in January.
