In Rapaura, Marlborough there lies a vineyard studded with precious stones. Once the bed of an ancient river, today they form the bed of our vineyard. We call them sunstones.  During the day, the sunstones reflect the brilliant Marlborough sunshine up into the vines and grapes. Bathed with heat from above and below, the grapes gradually ripen and their beautifully rich flavour intensifies.  Starved of moisture and struggling to grow in the stony soil, the vines concentrate their efforts into producing a few precious grapes, with the cool Marlborough nights locking the crisp, concentrated flavour inside. What the vines lack in quantity of fruit, they more than make up for in quality.  The result is a rare wine; elegant and crisp, yet intense - the magical taste of Stoneleigh. Read less

Light and fragrant, with pretty raspberry and tobacco flavors, lingering easily on the open-textured finish. Drink now through 2013.

Not quite as enticing as the 2007, Stoneleigh's 2008 Pinot Noir offers up some herbal, tomato-like aromas, combines them with roasted cherry-plum fruit, then finishes with a flourish of mocha oak. Drink now.

Shy at first, but then nicely focused sour cherry, plum and subtle floral tones unfold, framed by spice, tart acidity and tannin structure, with a splash of cedar oak. Drink now through 2008.

A medium-bodied, softly structured Pinot Noir, with earth and black cherry notes that come across as cola or chocolate. Drink now-2010.

This vintage from Stoneleigh nails the Pinot mouthfeel - supple and velvety - while delivering smoky and earthy flavors. There's enough black cherry fruit to keep it lively, but this wine's just not that fruity, instead relying on cola, coffee and earth flavors for interest.

Soft and plush, the Stoneleigh is pleasant and very easy to drink. Adorned with fresh fruit and floral aromas, it goes down smoothly, without the bite of acidity found in many Pinots in this price range. Pairs well with game birds, and many pork dishes. Gold Medal winner at the San Francisco Wine Show.

Fresh blueberry scents and light cherry flavors give this wine a clean, unpretentious feel. It develops some tannic grip with air, which suggests decanting it for duck rillettes or a country pâté this summer.
