Simonassi Malbec 2010
The combination of these varieties brings about a very complex wine with a strong personality. The wine shows the dense red fruits blended with the properties of the oak that deliver great persistency and an intense bouquet on the nose. The wine is intensely crimson red in color, very harmonious and fully bodied.
Nose is violet, plum, dark cherry, tobacco, and vanilla. Very aromatic. The front is dark fruits: currant, black cherry, plums. On the mid-palate, the tannins and oak begin to become noticeable, and the nice long finish definitely has some oak in it. I'd love to grab another bottle and lay it down for a while to see how it develops.
Thought this malbec was kind of uncharacteristic other than the carmelized nose which is kind of annoying than intriguing. Other than that, a smooth mouthfeel and not too heavy, more medium bodied
