Seven Hills Winery Tempranillo Columbia Valley 2007

Member Review by Lucha Vino:

Deep purple color with a nose of rich currant, earth, chocolate and pepper. The palate is lush black cherry, currant, cocoa and a bit of tartness with slight character of rhubarb. The finish adds some tartness of semi-sweet chocolate and cinnamon toasty spice that also appears on the nose as the wine opens up with air.

Save 55% During Our Black Friday Weekend Sale! San Francisco Chronicle -10/3/08 "Very aromatic, with rose petals, cigar box and vanilla notes, followed by blackberry, plum and cherry on the palate. It could use another year of bottle age, but very approachable now." Established in 1988 this is Seven Hills Winery’s fourth bottling of the rare Spanish varietal, Tempranillo, which has only recently been grown in Washington's wine grape growing regions. The grapes are sourced from two distinct sites: one, on a south-facing gravelly slope near Mattawa. The other is a terrace of silt loam in the Walla Walla Valley. Both are among the oldest plantings in the Northwest. The fruit was hand-picked under ideal weather conditions. The Tempranillo exhibits a medium-bodied, ripe, accessible style. It shows cherry fruit, with exotic hints of smoke, savory herb and rose petal notes. Vanillin and subtle spice add complexity. Sweet, bright fruit by mouth, with a clean finish, and mild tannins. Very Limited! Expires 11/29 at 11:59 PM ET 15% Case discount not valid on Black Friday Sale wines.
