Sage Veedercrest Meritage Napa Valley Mount Veeder 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes on the Sage Veedercrest Meritage Napa Valley Mount Veeder 2005 : NVWE NOTES: This delicious St. Emilion-style blend is decidedly Mount Veeder in its combination of red fruit and dried herbs. The aromas mix sweet red cherry, red plum and pomegranate-syrup notes, with cinnamon, vanilla and hints of sage, laurel and forest-floor scents, to create a lush melange that grows fruitier with airing. The plush red fruit really takes charge on the palate, where zesty fruit acid and some firming tannins join sweet cherry, pomegranate and red currant to more fully dominate the oaky-herbal accents. The finish is long and delicious, gaining depth and balance from its earthy notes and savory herbal undercurrents. It is certain to grow softer and more complex over the next 2-3 years, but might surprise with much greater longevity. I would be a brilliant companion to roast beef with Yorkshire pudding right now. A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30%Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot. 1,200 cases produced. SAGE VEEDERCREST MERITAGE NAPA VALLEY MOUNT VEEDER 2005
