88 points. This wine’s aroma is sweet and lush with a ripe berry component and an incredible sea stone quality. You can actually smell the coastline in this wine, and its terroir based aromas are fascinating. A good spin in the glass opens up some really earthy tones, with fresh soil, sage and shrub brush, and a berry bush quality. It opens rich, but gently on the palate, and there is an immediate smokiness that instantly makes itself known. This fades into some very terroir driven stone and soil tones, a dried blackcurrant, and peppercorn flavor. There is a slight green and black component that I usually associate with Cabernet Franc around the edges that I can only describe as grilled, slightly blackened Ortega chilies. There’s tons of minerality to this wine, especially toward the finish, and its ability to capture the essence of its environment is very interesting to me. A well made, restrained Cabernet, this is a wine worth trying. Source: What's Worth Drinking: http://whatsworthdrinking.com/2010/08/02/post-50-tasting-malibu-cabernet/

Complex hints of mocha, earth, tobacco and spice round out the lovely bouquet of this wine. xcellent layers of rich and plush dark black and red fruit including blackberries and cassis. This wine also has exceptionally balanced hints of oak and cedar along with a nice earthy minerality, mocha, and a lingering flavors of spice and black pepper.
