Rosenblum Cellars Petite Sirah Contra Costa County Heritage Clones 2008
Expected this to be stronger for a petit syrah. Softer than expected, but still nicely done.Add winemaker's notes

Great, long finish
Great texture , rich, long finish.
Very jammy. Great flavorful wine, easy to drink.
Jammy wine here. Playing the game of acid vs. sweetness and oak. Fun BBQ wine, but the VA is up pretty high if you look for it.
very smooth and enjoyable on a Saturday afternoon
Taste is thin, weak and tannic, Fruitty, one dimensional with a quick finish.

Delicious, with remarkable flavors. Smooth, rich and polished, with layers of huckleberry, blueberry and plum and a meaty-beefy-cola edge. Plush and saturated on the palate, coating the mouth, with an added tier of mocha and spice. Drink now through 2011.
Inky-purple in the glass; the nose is firm, showing blackberry, black cherry and black plum essence. The palate is packed with rich, jammy dark fruit and blueberry compote accented by big, palate-warming tannins and toasty spice. This wine is like a big overstuffed chair, cozy and loveable, with enough support to keep you begging for more. In a word: delicious.
Rosenblum Cellars is somewhat under the radar for top-class Petite Sirah, but they do a very fine job with it. The black/purple-tinged, broodingly primeval looking 2003 Petite Sirah Heritage Clones is a good value for those who love this wild, ageworthy varietal. It possesses sweet, incense-laden, black currant fruit with spice box, licorice, and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, tannic, and loaded with fruit, this is a long term prospect that needs 2ndash;3 years of bottle age. It should age effortlessly for 15 or more years.
Black in color and tannic power, this fills all that extract with flavor as rich as fig pudding. Itrsquo;s a meaty wine from 80- to 100-year-old vines, to cellar for a decade, then serve with grilled steak.
Dark, dense, rich and concentrated. Loaded with layers of ripe plum, currant, blackberry and hints of tobacco and sage, this gushes with brawny fruit and muscular tannins. Best from 2006 through 2012.
Saturated ruby. Superripe aromas of cassis, blackberry, molten dark chocolate and maple syrup. Thick, sweet and densely packed, with exotic flavors of licorice, mocha, smoke and orange peel. Fat and seamless but not heavy, thanks to a firm acid spine. Finishes fine and sweet, with substantial toothdusting tannins.
On the off-dry side of the fence, this zaftig wine has gigantic flavors of blackberry jam, cassis-laced cola, raspberry tart and smoke. Itrsquo;s hot in alcohol, but the heat expresses itself as a white peppery, nutmeggy spice that seasons the fruit.
