Ravines Wine Cellars is a boutique winery on the hillside of glacier-carved Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. We produce fine, dry European-style wines: wines with character, balance and a sense of place.
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

A touch of diesel, white chocolate, earth, chalk, not fruit driven, a bit of dissolved co2 here, very acid driven wine, clean and crisp but with cutting acidity, easy flavors of apricot and pear, a bit lean and attenuated and the acidity conveys a really steely note, nice bit of kiwifruit, zesty kiwi and lime finish, very bright, good length, mouthwatering minerality at the end This really deserves some food and would work well with certain dishes, on it’s own it is challenging, but interesting 87pts
Ripe pear and apple flavors with a crisp finish. Paired well with Thai food.
I love this wine! Just the right amount of crisp apple, peach with a dry finish. Try it with my version of a Asia Dog. Mix 1/4 cup of each- julienne carrot, julienne seedless cucumber, kimchi, 1 finely chopped shallot. Top 6 all beef or pork hot dogs in the best buns you can find, garnish with light sprinkle of bonita flakes. A bit spicy but delicious!
Green apple nose. Very dry. Clean and light. A bit of acidity. Very easy drinking. Hint of oak on the finish.
Citrus in my nostrils. Like squeezing a grapefruit peel. Very sharp citrus mouth. Almost cankerous in the mouth.
A pale yellowish green in the glass, this riesling from the hot 2007 vintage offers lightly floral aromas along with those of dried apricots and fresh lime with a great minerally quality. The palate is lighter bodied and lithe, but still fills the mouth with intense minerality, bursting citrusy-lime flavors and an undercurrent of apricots. Several 2007 riesling I've tasted were flat and lifeless, but this one is anything but. The acidity is almost electric in its liveliness and the finish is lengthy, lingering with lime and slate notes. Morten only made 150 cases of this wine

Historically, New York's Finger Lakes produced wines from native and hybrid grapes, but in the past decade, the region has undergone rapid growth and is focusing more on European vinifera varieties, predominantly Riesling. Ravines, founded by Morten Hallgren in 2000, made one of the best versions of the 2012 vintage, which had a warm, dry growing season. This wine includes grapes from the 16 Falls, Hobbit Hollow, White Springs and Argetsinger vineyards. 3,500 cases made.
