Pommery Brut Royale NV
The Pommery house was controlled for many years by Madame Pommery, second only in fame to Madame Clicquot. She took a fledgling Champagne house and poured her efforts into renovating the grounds and cellars, and moving the house towards the exclusive production of sparkling wine rather than still. The style at Pommery is light and delicate. The non-vintage Pommery Brut Royale is 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. The nose is characterized by green herbs, and the style on the palate is full, with cream and foam and a honeyed edge.
