Pine Ridge Rutherford Cab 2001
This is from our Cellar - earthy deep toasty wine. Perfect for steak dinner. The classic flavors of Rutherford 'dust' are clearly expressed year after year by Pine Ridge. The 2001 vintage is already a classic - smooth tannins. Decant this for 30 minutes or so to get the most or age another 3-4 years.

From one of the best districts in Napa, and one of the best producers, this rsquo;01 Cabernet is outstanding. Some Petite Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc are blended into this unfiltered wine, giving it a beautiful color (dark purple) and aromas (oak, black currants, and cassis). The winersquo;s tannins have softened, making it very lush and smooth. The flavors of red fruits, spices and California plum ooze all over the palate, yet are not overstated. The wine is in perfect harmony and will continue to stay that way for the 5ndash;8 years.
The gorgeous, dark ruby/purple-hued 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagrsquo;s Leap offers scents of new oak, flowers, black and red fruits in a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, well-balanced style. Anticipated maturity: nowndash;2018.
This luxurious wine flatters the palate with its sumptuous fruit, ripe and big but not overbearing. The black currant, cassis, plum, mocha, smoky oak and spicy flavors swim in sweet, fine tannins. A spine of acidity keeps it all honest. Gorgeous now, and will age through 2015 or beyond.
