Pierre Gaillard Côte-Rôtie 2008
Having been involved in the development of La Turque at Maison Guigal, Pierre
Gaillard is more than familiar with the interplay between oak and fine
Côte-Rôtie. This is perfectly demonstrated here with notes of
tapenade, smoky bacon and violets lifted somewhat ethereally by 10% Viognier.
There was no Rose Pourpre made in 2008, so these finest grapes, mainly from the
commune of Les Roziers, have all been added to the blend, lending weight and
authority. Drink 2012-2017.
The total area of the domaine is 11 hectares, distributed in different parcels located in the districts of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, and, of course Meursault. All the vineyards were cultivated following organic agricultural practices from 1992 to 1997, at the end of this period the domaine became 100% biodynamic.
