The 2007 Peconic Bay Merlot is soft, inky and intense with long flavors of black fruits, plum skin, cedar and forest floor. Stylistically, it is very similar in weight and texture to Pomerol wines of good pedigree. It will improve in the bottle for many years and last as long as 18-20 gracefully
This is a soft, approachable, well balanced Merlot. It possesses delicate hints of cedar, spice, plum, and black cherry in the nose. There is also an enticing subtle herbal character that imbues the aromatic structure. The tannins are ripe and firm. This gives the wine backbone and maintains overall structure.
