Deep violet hue with intense, bright, upfront flavors and rich, ripe, sweet, juicy fruit that is lush and velvety on the palate. Step aside mates, therersquo;s a new Shiraz in town!

The 2002 Shiraz Individual Vineyard is muted aromatically. Nevertheless, its saturated ruby/purple color, excellent texture, and weighty, lush mouthfeel are impressive. The wine, which had just been bottled, needs to settle down, but it possesses loads of character, and it should ultimately merit a score similar to the Cabernet Sauvignon. A substantial effort, it provides further evidence of just how special the 2002 vintage appears to be in South Australia.

It was designed by importer Dan Phillips to be a flavorful, full-bodied, fruitdriven Shiraz. Moreover, it is available in abundant quantities (5,500 cases). It offers a dark purple color, surprising volume and intensity, abundant quantities of cassis fruit, no oak, and plenty of fat and glycerin in its velvety-textured, mouth-filling, friendly style.
