Osborne Manzanilla Sherry NV

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

Petrol and crisp sea air control the nose, while the palate has saline, lemon and bitter almond flavors. Chalky and tight on the finish, with some mushroom and vanilla nuance.

Quite sharp, boasting iodine, apple, straw and lemon notes, with a chalky texture and a long, lanolin aftertaste. Has character and flavor. Drink now.

The most unique of all sherry wines, Manzanilla comes from the coastal village of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where they say the briny ocean breezes bring a tinge of saltiness to the finished wine. It’s lightly nutty on the nose and very dry on the palate. It shows a nice, delicate balance of zippy citrus, roasted nuts and yes, just a hint of brine. A perfect aperitif with your favorite tapas.

Matured in bodegas at the seaside town of Sanlucar de Barrameda, Manzanilla gets its salty edge from the Atlantic. Light, dry and savory, serve this sherry chilled as an apéritif. Almonds, olives or seafood are good accompaniments.
