A top value in Aussie Shiraz, grab the remaining bottles before itrsquo;s supplanted by the 2007, which isnrsquo;t quite as richly textured. The 2006 is slightly leafy and peppery on the nose, giving a welcome sense of complexity to the blackberry fruit. Itrsquo;s firm without being hard, with a surprisingly long finish.

No hiding that this wine is from Australia mdash; you can tell as soon as you get a whiff of it. Berries and oak start you off and lead you to flavors of spice and ripe black plums carried by the firm tannins.

Appealing aromas of plums, blueberries, pepper and spice. This is a powerful display of dark berry fruit with velvety tannins and a smooth finish.

Nugan Family Shiraz is the epitome of Australiarsquo;s signature varietal mdash; juicy raspberry and tart pomegranate laced with the classic white pepper bite at the tip of your tongue. The deliciously fruity flavors are carefully balanced by the firm tannic structure to create a hearty red that pleases wine connoisseurs and neophytes alike. Pop open one of these at your next barbecue and soon your parties will be the talk of the town!

Vivid ruby. Dark berries and plum on the nose, with a subtle mineral quality adding lift. Sappy black fruit flavors offer good palate coverage, with dusty tannins contributing grip. Picks up smoky oak spices on the sweet, lingering finish.

A knock-out value, the 2002 Shiraz offers loads of blackberry fruit characteristics intertwined with notes of licorice and camphor. Dense and medium to full-bodied, with outstanding purity as well as flavor, it should drink well for 3ndash;4 years.
