Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"Grapes for the Napa Cellars 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon are carefully selected from a collection of prime Napa Valley vineyards in desirable regions including St. Helena, Rutherford and Oak Knoll. The Napa Cellars winemaking team believes the land – or terroir – shapes the balance, complexity, aroma and flavor of their wine and the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon stands as a testament to that belief. Napa Cellars produces wines that express their place of origin – each vineyard imparts complex and unique characteristics, the final blend captures a beautiful display of signature Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The Napa Cellars 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon embraces the winemaker’s approachable style. Elegant and concentrated aromas of plum and dark fruit open to a soft mouthfeel of black and red fruit flavor with a subtle hint of cinnamon and tobacco. The French Oak helps soften the tannins and the understated acidity of this wine complement the bright fruit characteristics to create a balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. Enjoy a glass of the silky Napa Cellars 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with beef stir-fry or a pepper-crusted Ahi tuna." -Winery

What does Napa stand for? For some, it conjures up images of five-star resorts and world renowned restaurants, but everyone agrees Napa Valley represents the pinnacle of great wines; one of the world's great wine capitals. Napa Cellars embodies the classic Napa Valley style - ripe, rich, balanced and collectible. Most importantly, the wines of Napa Cellars taste of the depth of this great wine region as much as the grapes themselves. In the valley's warm days and cool nights, our vineyards produce seven primary varieties for which Napa Valley has become famous. Try one of our classic wines, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them. Read less

A touch sweet and toasty on the nose with a nice light licorice top not floating over moderately spicy and slightly leathery black fruit. Balanced and focused on entry with a nice integrated, decidedly medium-bodied mouth feel and layered flavors of toasty oak, leather, licorice, black plum skin, and a touch of green walnut. This turns a touch minty on the back end where the sweetness of wood picks up a bit, leading to a moderately long finish that shows a bit of oaky harshness and more licorice notes. 87pts

Very deep blackberry nose, with black pepper and molasses notes, and a bit of vanilla. Hints of red-pepper spiciness. I really enjoy the nose, it's comforting. The body is moderate-to-heavy, a bit hot in the middle which doesn't complement the bitterness well. Berry fruit on the finish, not bad.

Has a beautiful nose with layers of berries, cocoa powder, with hints of clove and spice. The tannins build a nice core structure with a round mouthfeel. Dark fruit, wild berries and cocoa flavors lead to a finish with well-integrated oak.
