Mockingbird Hill:
Mockingbird Hill produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay – two of the most popular red and white varietals – in one of the best wine regions in the United States: Napa Valley, California. The warm days, cool nights and long summers develop great flavors in the grapes, and winemaker David Schlottman carefully handles them to create some of the best-tasting wines on the planet.

This is a very nice bottle of wine. The petite sirah has a great nose an some sexy legs. Fruity and impressive.

I found my thrill on Mockingbird Hill. There Petite Sirah flourishes in the temperate climate and fertile soils of Napa Valley. From the glass an aromatic bouquet of violets preludes dense black and blue fruits that are so inky one should be aware of the purple lips teeth and tongue syndrome that may occur. Regardless of the hazards the wine is rich full bodied well balanced and an absolute pleasure to drink. I recommend it on carnivore night with a thick cut of dry-aged ribeye and grilled veggies.

Petite Sirah has a long history in California, and Napa Valley has some of the oldest plantings. It took many years to determine that it is actually the Durif varietal, from France’s Rhone Valley that has been making the deep, dense, spicy, fruit laden red that Californians have been enjoying for decades. James Laube wrote in the Wine Spectator, "Petite Sirah is distinctive, easy to drink, versatile with a wide range of foods, and capable of making enormously complex wines.…More importantly, winemakers are applying the same techniques to Petite that they are to other wines, seeking riper, more opulent flavors, and showing a greater appreciation for what can be accomplished with (it)." This is definitely true for this wine produced by veteran Napa winemaker David Schlottman. Some of the grapes for this wine come from eighty year old vines. The grapes are small (“petit”), concentrated and richly flavored. The wine is slowly vinified, extracting deep color and flavor, then aged 18 months in oak barrels. Deeply flavored and complex with black cherry, blackberry and black pepper nuances. This is a rich red you really owe it to yourself to try. Grab it while it's ON SALE!

Deep, inky, teeth-staining purple-black hue, richly packed with freshly-picked blackberry, blueberry and black currant flavors. Fans of Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet take note - this bold and sassy wine is an excellent alternative to your everyday favorite reds.
