The vineyard covers a single area of 140 acres, around 123 acres of which are currently in production. Some plots have just been replanted and are still too young to produce appellation wines, and 10 acres)of old vines have been removed. These will be replanted after five to six years lying fallow. This is necessary to eliminate viruses, as we do not use chemical disinfection. The vineyards are cultivated organically under "Qualité France" supervision. No insecticides or herbicides are used. Copper and sulphur contents are limited. The soil is worked by tilling and enriched by applying manure of organic origin. The main grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault for the reds and rosés, and Semillon, Clairette, Rolle, and Roussanne for the whites. All harvesting is done by hand. Read less

Rose du Mas 2010 - Recommended Rose 2010, Martha Stewart Living Radio Blog / “The Women's Farm” makes a certified organic blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 20% Cinsaultwith pronounced aromas and flavors of roses, peaches, strawberries, and herbs (lavender?). The perfumeyquality turned off some tasters, while others (like me) loved the intensity.

Rose du Mas 2011 - 87 points, Wine & Spirits/ This is pleasantly rustic, its sweet cherry and strawberry flavors slightly jammy, scented with thyme and rosemary. It would be delicious with roast pork, especially a fattier cut larded with herbs.

/ Slightly confected on the nose, showing cotton candy and bubble gum aromas, but you’ll also find plenty of strawberry-raspberry flavors. Very fruity and clean, with a fresh finish.

Weekly Wine Picks: Imported Rose/ The small southern French appellation Les Baux de Provence is the first to demand that all wines be produced biodynamically. This very light pink wine, a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, is edgy but not severe, with light, racy flavors of pink grapefruit and hints of mint.

Tasting Highlights: Outstanding full-bodied reds from some of southern France’s top producers and the latest rosés from Provence/ Berry and melon flavors fill this peppery rosé; red peach and spice carry the rich finish.
