The 2006 Holly's Blend is 90% Verdelho and 10% Chardonnay, 30% of which was fermented in French oak, the balance in tank. Medium straw-colored, it exhibits a fragrant bouquet of citrus, melon, lemon-lime, and a hint of tropical fruits in the background. Supple-textured and easy going, the wine has plenty of ripe flavors balanced by crisp acidity. Drink it over the next 12-18 months.
Riper, richer and more expressive than most Verdelhos; actually more like a Viognier. Spicy, round and generous with its melon, citrus and spice flavors. Drink now.
A wonderful alternative in white wine, this unoaked blend of Verdelho and other grapes displays rich melon and clean citrus fruit essences.
The 2002 Holly's Blend, a 2,300-case cuvee of 100% Verdelho from McLaren Vale, possesses that petroleum-like character found in a rich Alsatian or German white. It offers up a gorgeous nose of white peaches, flowers, and a hint of orange rind. Textured, intense, and fruit-driven, with copious glycerin as well as body yet refreshing and light on its feet, it will drink well for a year.
Ripe and round, a mouthful of melon and citrus flavor that balances on the finish with a bracing bitter note. Verdelho. Drink now.
