Marques de Caceres Rioja Rose 2013

Member Review by JenniferT:

Wow, I was dissappointed with this one. This Rose rioja had nothing to say, other than scream "STRAWBERRY!!". Really, I just can't believe that this wine was not made with strawberries! I will say that I appreciated that the wine is at an appropriate sweetness level, but that only kept it from being indistinguishable from kool-aid. Just my opinion, but I really didn't like this one at all. It would however be my choice of wine to try with people who are adamantly non-wine drinkers, and would probably prefer simplier, approachable, fruity wines. It would be also be my first choice of wine for children. :)

Bodegas Marques de Caceres:
The name of this wine. Marques de Caceres was lent by D. Vicente Noguera y Espinosa de los Monteros. Today, he has been succeeded by his son D. Juan Noguera Merle, a worthy representative of the Marquisate which was granted in the XVIII century to his ancestor Juan Ambrosio Garcia de Caceres y Montemayor, a Captain of the Royal Armada for war merits.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Clear, pretty pink with orange tints color.Very fruity nose--straberries. Pretty crisp on the palate. Not as much fruit as the nose might have predicted. Very refreshing. Good summer wine. US$6.99 at Trader Joe's

Attractive medium coral pink colour. Fresh notes of red berries (raspberries, strawberries) on the nose with a depth of floral and mineral sensations.

Vivid pale raspberry Color. Charming bouquet of red berries with a whiff of fragrant flowers in the background. Lusciously fresh in the mouth with full fruit and good structure. A vibrant elegant Rose.
