Manifesto Sauvignon Blanc Suisun Valley 2011

Member Review by Snark Knight:

Lots of citrus here. It's a California Sauvignon Blanc that drinks like a New Zealander.

The nose is bright with lime and grapefruit, a bit of buttery oak. Not very complex though. Good acidity on the palate, nice mouthfeel. The finish is nice and long with a solid grapefruit note.

Super floral nose of Paper Whites and peaches, pink grapefruit, papaya, Meyer lemon, and a hint of cut herbs. Bold mouthful of pink grapefruit, orange creamsicle and papaya finishing long and bright with flavors of lime, peach and orange zest. - Winery

The Suisun Valley east of Carneros is perfect for Sauvignon Blanc, which benefits enormously from the region's diurnal temperature difference. The wine has a slightly grassy and very aromatic nose, which gives way to a clean palate that is devoid of oak and has lots of bright, mouth-watering acidity.

Fun and simple Sauvignon Blanc made for easy pairing or enjoyed on its own! Big citrus aromatics and a real vibrancy on the palate. Pairs well with many styles of cuisine. Manifesto! has taken a sort of Ben & Jerry's approach to wine-making; they're about truth in product, truth in advertising.Henri Gabriel and Jamey Whetstone founded Manifesto! on the premise that they would identify and work with a handful of growers to produce great wine without charging a whole lot of money. They wanted to make wine that tasted like what's in the grape, not like something that has passed through the kidneys of a beaver. Too many wines these days have too much wood. They asked two friends, who are food industry gurus, to help them pioneer Manifesto! and together, as a fearsome foursome, they have introduced America to a food-friendly, environmentally-conscious wine.

Fun and simple Sauvignon Blanc made for easy pairing or enjoyed on its own! Big citrus aromatics and a real vibrancy on the palate. Pairs well with many styles of cuisine. Manifesto was created by winemaker Jamey Whetstone and Jim White to craft finely made, yet uncomplicated, wines that could be served at the most rarified of tables or the most basic of picnic blankets.
