M. Chapoutier White Rhone Blend Côtes du Rhône Blanc Belleruche 2007
"Green-gold color. Extremely spicy aromas of minerals, cinnamon, clove and lemon. Dusty citrus and peach flavors gain sweetness with air, picking up hints of spun sugar and floral honey. Very fresh, with excellent finishing cut and lingering spiciness. This fascinating wine deftly plays sweetness against energy...94" 01/09
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.

Soft and caressing but persistent with stylish mulled currant fig and black cherry notes laced with tobacco and incense. The plush finish is accessible now with a nice rounded feel. Drink now through 2015. -JM Wine Spectator.
The 2007 Ermitage Cuvee de l Oree reveals a light gold color as well as a rich nose of flowers intermixed with honeyed oranges apricots quince and currants. Deep full-bodied and multidimensional it should drink nicely for 30+ years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
Made in a lighter style but still a full-bodied powerful wine the dark purple-hued 2007 Ermitage Le Pavillon reveals aromas of creme de cassis black truffles cold steel and crushed rocks. Dense and tannic with good acidity resounding richness and a substantial finish it is a top-notch effort that should evolve for three decades. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
The full-bodied 2007 St.-Joseph Les Granits exhibits sweet black currant fruit camphor rock and exotic Asian spice characteristics. With slightly less density and weight than the 2006 it should drink nicely for 10-15 years. Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
Ruby-red. Dark berries smoke licorice and gunflint on the nose. Offers a silkier texture and more flesh than the preceding 2002 reds with good fruit for the vintage. Complicating notes of pepper gunflint and licorice. Tannins are a tad dry but fine-grained. But there s good supporting material here. Appears to have the fruit to improve with four or five years of additional bottle aging. 88+ Stephen Tanzers IWC.
