Luli Chardonnay 2009

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

Light yellow. Melon and pit fruits on the nose, with notes of white flowers and honey. Expansive and open-knit, offering sweet honeydew, peach and nectarine flavors and gentle acidity. Extremely easy to drink, with good snap to the long, juicy finish.

From a small project owned Jeff Pisoni, the 2008 Chardonnay is a tropical fruit, nectarine, lemon oil, and pineapple-scented beauty displaying fresh acids, orange marmalade flavors, and good length. Drink this lovely white wine over the next several years.

In Roman mythology, the god Bacchus was commonly known as the lord of wine, frivolity and intoxication. His love of the ldquo;grape fantasticrdquo; has quite obviously inspired the winemakers at Bacchant (ldquo;Worshipper of Bacchusrdquo;) to produce an admirable accolade to his divineness mdash; reminiscent of Bacchusrsquo;s own decadence. The luscious Luli 2007 Chardonnay, from the cool Santa Lucia Highlands in California, is a balanced wine with superb acidity and intense flavor. A nose evocative of whipped cream tinged with lemon opens up beautifully into flavors of fresh apricot laced with citrus notes, delivering a lingering finish. Luli is a crisp, largely unoaked style of Chardonnay mdash; just perfect with todayrsquo;s fresh catch.
