Bold black fruit aromas of blackberry and black currant with a dark, full earth palate of tar and forest floor. This is lively and fruity on the palate, quite surprising with a mixture of red and black fruit, bold spice and thick tannins, soft texture with floral notes around the edges and sweet oak spice. Easy drinking.

Dark blackberry notes on the nose with elegant hints of spice and an herbal freshness on top. A bit smoky in the mouth, this still is quite supple and delicate despite having bold blackberry, black currant and finishes strong with firm tannins gripping the palate and black pepper spice to add some zest. Very easy drinking and enjoyable Cabernet. 89 pts

vanilla, cherry cola very distinct. I'm not a snob, so for me to taste it, it must have been right there, honey.

We love this 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma, it maybe past it's prime. I found this evening the cork in the bottle we just opened was leaking. Not a tight seal and the wine is off somewhat. It is drinkable so please drink your's up if you have any on the shelf. We consider this to be our "house cab wine" and can always count on a good bottle from Louis Martini. I am sorry it did not stand up to the others we have opened these past six months, we still have two bottles. I guess it is time to move onto 2008. If not for this bottle I would rate it a 4 plus but not today.

filled with dark fruits, blackberries, black currants, a little earthiness, some pepper, spice, cedar, and oak. Loads of flavor providing a great complexity to the wine, wonderful structure and balance of the tannins, acidity and fruit.

My Rating: 90. This wine is elegant with restrained fruit aromas . Fine grained tannins. Nose is smooth and long. It grows on you. At Costco Michigan I paid $ 11. Good deal

This is the best vintage yet of a wonderful series of wines at this level by Louis Martini in the 2000s. The nose opens to chocolate, dark fruits and spice, with florals floating over the top. The palate is warm and dry, with zesty acidity supporting cherry and blackberry in the center and chocolate rising from below like a deep, well-mixed bass guitar. A long, zingy finish delights the back of the palate with pops of cherry and pepper, while the mid-palate salivates and the front dries. The harmony of these three loci is extremely balanced and pleasurable, producing lengthy interplay, interest and complexity. Some wines have one or two of these areas going on at once, but this one delights in all three. Amazingly, the wine improves constantly over four hours, leaving the dilemma of savoring the peak vs. waiting even longer to test the curve of development. Alas, someone else will have to try it at five hours. Delight got the best of me. What a value!

Nice Cabernet, but didn't blow the doors off as I expected from a wine rated by some in the low 90s. Not a disappointment, but nothing exceptional. Had little nose, but was nice on the palate with good balance.

My wife loved this, I was a bit less excited. Deep dark red color. To me it lacked balance - strong tannins, medium body, and a medium finish. Very fruity. The tannins did seem to soften after some time out of the bootle. We had this with lamb and it went great. I suspect anything that could counteract the tannins would be very good.

Notes: The Louis M. Martini 2015 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon wine reflects the best of the warm, narrow Dry Creek Valley and the hot yet wind-cooled Alexander Valley. Together, these unique features create a rich, superbly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with copious yet supple tannins. Those tannins make the young wine approachable but will still give it enough texture to age gracefully. This wine features concentrated flavors including wild berries, plum, licorice and mocha. The full-bodied and mouth-coating texture on the palate leads to a long and graceful finish. Winemaker Notes: The Louis M. Martini 2016 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon reflects the best of the warm, narrow Dry Creek Valley and the hot yet wind-cooled Alexander Valley. Together, these unique features create a balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with concentrated notes of dark fruit, black tea and cocoa. The full-bodied mouthfeel leads to a supple and persistent finish. Traditional de-stemming and fermentation temperatures between 88°F and 92°F encouraged the development of rich fruit characteristics and a plush, full mouthfeel. The careful selection of French and American oak added sweetness and complexity with layers of vanilla, mocha and espresso. Average time on oak was 16 months. Touches of Merlot, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Franc enhance the wine’s roundness and depth. Blending occurred two months before bottling to allow the blend to harmonize. Viticulture Notes: The grapes for this wine were primarily selected from two of our renowned, crown jewel vineyards in Sonoma County: Frei Ranch vineyards in Dry Creek Valley AVA and Barrelli Creek Vineyard in the Alexander Valley AVA. The 2015 vintage was yet another in a string of warm, dry and early growing seasons. Mild weather throughout the spring and summer came with neither excessive heat spikes nor cool stretches, allowing slow, even ripening that built excellent ripeness and complexity. Our passionate pursuit of quality and consistency in our vineyards rewarded us with small berries with intense aromatics, concentrated ripe fruit flavors and outstanding structure and balance. The 2016 growing season was dry, warm and steady. Consistently mellow temperatures throughout the spring and summer allowed grapes to ripen fully and evenly, and a slightly early harvest allowed us to pick every block at optimum ripeness. The result was concentrated fruit of particularly high quality with rich complexity. Varietal Content: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Merlot Alcohol Level: 14.5% Residual Sugar: 3.5G/100ML Titratable Acidity: 5.6G/100ML PH: 3.86

Wine Description: Concentrated flavors that include wild berries, plum, licorice and mocha. The full-bodied and mouth-coating feel on the palate leads to a long, graceful finish with tones of intense fruit, dried herbs and cedar inside firm structure. Viticulture Notes: The grapes for this wine were primarily selected from renowned vineyards in Sonoma County. For this vintage, we looked to our Frei Ranch vineyards in Dry Creek Valley AVA and our Barrelli Creek Vineyard in the Alexander Valley AVA. The 2014 growing season was another very cooperative one with early bud break, steady temperatures and long hang time that lasted through an exceptionally long harvest. The result was vibrant fruit development, ideal tannins and an exquisite vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Description: The Louis M. Martini 2013 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon hails from several of the county’s most prestigious vineyards, whose unique characteristics were combined to create a rich, superbly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. A reflection of the warmer vintage, the wine offers ripe flavors of blackcurrant and jammy black plum accented by notes of caramelized oak and baking spice. The round, plush mouthfeel offers firm structure framed by a fruit-focused finish. Viticulture Notes: The grapes for this wine were primarily selected from renowned vineyards in Sonoma County. Specifically, we looked to our Frei Ranch and Stefani vineyards in Dry Creek Valley AVA, as well as to our Barrelli Creek Vineyard in the Alexander Valley AVA. The 2013 vintage was another ideal growing season. Cooperative weather in the spring, abundant warmth throughout the summer and the late arrival of rain in the fall allowed for wonderful fruit development. The result of this exquisite vintage is Cabernet Sauvignon of vibrant color, intense dark fruit flavors, ripe and rich texture and an impressive finish. Winemaking Notes: Traditional destemming and a 48 hour cold soak prior to yeast inoculation ensured maximum extraction of pure Cabernet flavors. Fermentation temperatures between 88°F and 92°F encouraged the development of rich fruit characteristics and a plush, full mouthfeel. French and American oak aging complement the dark fruit character with sweet, layered nuances of mocha and caramel. A touch of Petite Sirah and Merlot enhances the wine’s roundness and depth. One of the finest bargains in California Cabernet Sauvignon must be Louis M. Martini's outstanding 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma. The good news is there are 140,000 cases produced. Fabulously sweet aromas of black currants, licorice, and cedar soar from the glass of this medium to full-bodied wine. With silky tannins as well as surprising concentration, depth, and texture, this 2006 should drink well for 8-10 years.
