Los Vascos Cabernet Savignon 2002
Cabernet Sauvignon is the classic production of Los Vascos, and is the grape that made the estate famous. The vintages all share a mature and fruity quality, fresh aromas, and a supple and fleshy structure. A totally unusual rainfall at the end of March caused a justified alarm prior the harvest. Fortunately, the harvest developed normally in the Colchagua area. Previous summer months had been warm. The growing season developed in very good climatic conditions for the grapes. This is a balanced and warm vintage, intense ruby red in colour. It has a fruity and expressive bouquet full of black fruits and some spices. In the mouth it is round with notes of fresh raspberries. This wine is well-balanced in alcohol and acidity, consistent, and it has a long finish.

Overt and dark, with sweet, earthy aromas and plenty of telltale cassis. For a basic appellation Cabernet, this delivers the goods. The potent palate is packed full of plum, cherry, cassis and more. The finish is so chocolaty and full that it almost seems chewable. Well done.
From pre-phylloxera vines, an elegantly crafted Cabernet by the famous Rothschild producers of Bordeaux. Solid, medium-bodied effort with plum and blackberry fruits and hints of cassis on the nose.
