Licia Albariño Rías Baixas Licia 2010
"Lícia" is a shortening of Galicia in northwest Spain known for its Celtic influence and overall greenness due to the maritime climate. This refreshing, flavorful white is made from 100% Albariño, sourced from the subzones of Condado de Tea and O Rosal in DO Rías Baixas. Situated along the border with Portugal, vineyards in these subzones benefit from a drier climate and warmer growing season.
Editorial Reviews for Licia Albariño Rías Baixas Licia
Limey and bright on the nose with a touch of herb. A little sweetish on entry with a fresh, simple core of grapefruit orchard fruit. This is light enough to let the acid lend some freshness, but the texture is just a bit sticky and the finish has a bit of heat. 84pts
Food Pairings for Licia Albariño Rías Baixas Licia
Albariño comes in a variety of styles, and the location of the vineyards can have plenty to do with it. Cool, more ocean-influenced sites add citrus notes to this wine. Along with lemon and orange notes, there are also orchard fruits and some friendly peachy flavors in the middle and finish.
