Les Roches Touraine 2010

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

Full of pineapple, peach, and lemon, coating the palate with an almost oily texture yet an invigorating salty, chalky minerality, and finishing with a bittersweet, pungently herbal, nutty, tartly fruit skin cling that is bound to call forth the next sip.

A light and racy Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc that that features exotic aromas and flavors of fresh pineapple, with hints of chive and cut grass on the minerally finish. I love the cool-climate style here; no fat, itandrsquo;s all about the purity of the fruit.

Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the beautiful chateau country of the Loire Valley, this wine is a bright, vibrant and juicy expression of the grape. It would complement sole almondine, shrimp and pasta salad, or fresh goat cheese.

The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc from Les Roches is from Tours, about midway through the Loire Valley. It is a quintessential summer white: crisp, clean, light and refreshing. Its nose hints of lemon zest, and the taste is reminiscent of just under-ripe gooseberries, new peas and freshly-mown grass, and its natural acidity makes the salivary glands work overtime! Dry and mouthwatering; all its components carry through to a tangy finish. Perfect for picnics or just hanging on the porch, it goes well with shellfish, chicken salads or stuffed artichokes.
