The owner, Gary Heck, said, “If in one season the climate is such that the grapes are not to our quality standards, we won’t make Lake Sonoma wine from them.” Our mission is to produce premium, Sonoma County sub-appellation and vineyard specific wines: Zinfandels and Fume Blanc from Dry Creek Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley and Chardonnay from Russian River Valley. Our objective is to create the ultimate expression of these sub-appellations: wines possessing excellent structure, desirable fruit flavors, and intriguing complexity. Raise your expectation. Raise your standards. Lake Sonoma Winery - THE GOLD STANDARD. Read less

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Rating: 84/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. Hesitant suggestions of grapefruit and sour orange in the nose are overlain by a hint of flowery sweetness, yet this wine never quite finds a true varietal voice. It has the texture and weight of Chardonnay, but it comes up short on positive fruit and is too soon cut off by citric tartness.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

Vibrant citrus and tropical fruit aromas layered with rich vanilla and a brioche foundation. Fruit flavors on the palate include green apple and nectarine, with a texture reminiscent of lemon custard.

Wine Tasting Notes Flavors of apple and pears complement the soft vanilla oak profile and crme brulee-like finish.

Closure: Cork

Aged 8 months in French Oak.
