Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2010
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is ultra-concentrated both in the nose and on the palate with aromas of blueberry, dark plum and Black Mission fig followed by cardamom, nutmeg, graphite, tobacco and vanilla bean. The sweet tannins are intertwined with flavors of anise, caramel cream, spicy black pepper and crushed blackberries, contributing to the long, lush finish.
Editorial Reviews for Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville
This was smoky and rocky with intense black spice and black fruit tones. Still decidedly youthful and powerful with layers of rich, sweet fruits and slow to emerge sweet, creamy cappuccino oak notes. In the mouth this remains youthful, big, rich and well balanced. The fruits are intense and meaty with a long menthol top note that leads to the finish which is probably the weakest point of the wine as it is a touch short. It's touch to follow up all that rich fruit. Still this is about as good a modern California Cab as one could hope for and it has some serious potential for improvement. 2009-2020 92pts
Fruit forward and concentrated, but just enough hit of earth to stop it from being too syrupy sweet and overly big. Dark cherries, cassis, a bit of dark chocolate, mossy notes. A great sipper on its own and lots of pairing potential.
Very nice with good complexity following ~1hr decant time.
his wine was rich and inviting on the nose hinting at dark fruits and forest floor. Showed a glimmer of green pepper but in a subtle and attractive way. Full bodied with intense currant and sweet plum fruit. Great balance and a pleasure to drink. Ended with a medium finish reminiscent of the dark fruits with a bit of licorice.
90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 4% Petite Verdot Nose has elements of spice, caramel. Flavors indicate a lot of oak. Long finish, great balance, strong tannins. I feel like it needs a year or two to really show.
Lovely scents of butter, oak, spice, and berries. Dry with a bit of cedar. Spice finish.
Deep, dark ruby red color. Nose is moody and dark with blue fruit, vanilla barrel, forest funk and dusty mocha... yum. On the palate, black current, raisin, licorice and with a rich, sweet mid-palate. Cherry liquor on the long finish. A really great wine that always pleases.

Bright ruby-red. Aroma of cassis, mocha and Cuban cigar tobacco. Sweet and pliant in the mouth, with currant and black cherry fruit flavors complicated by tobacco, herbs and spicy oak. Quite suave in the middle. Finishes with firm but sweet tannins and excellent length. A very successful vintage for this bottling.

A rich bouquet of cinnamon, licorice, and caramel followed by layers of cherry, currant and sweet tannin.
Fine red wine- Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 - USA - Region: California - Apellation: Napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon - 750 ml
Expensive, yes, but it shows the drama and interest that a Joseph Phelps Cabernet predictably delivers. Itandrsquo;s rich and ripe in blackberry, cherry, currant and oak flavors, with wonderful tannins and a dry finish. Best now.

Deep, bright ruby. Aromas of blackberry, crushed cassis and graphite. Juicy, spicy and fresh, with very good intensity and lift to the sweet dark berry and spice flavors. Primary, fruit-driven wine with a persistent, floral finish. Firmly tannic but nicely balanced from the start. A lovely vintage for this bottling.
