Jacob's Creek 2007
My Rating: 88 firm structure with well balanced fruit and med tannins. nose has berry like flavours. hs not the complexity of erlier releases like 2003
Scents of hay, smoke, a bit of tobacco. Medium body with licorice and tart plum flavor. Finish is dry, warm, and tangy.
Tasted at UNLVino 4/10/10
A full bodied wine with a big finish, needs a hearty dish to subdue it's strength
I opened this bottle last night hoping for a nice suprise, but the suprise was on me. If you enjoy lots and I mean overwhelming Alchol this wine is for you. I have enjoyed other Jacob's Creek wines before, but not last night. I gave it plenty of time to open up and it did soften the blow some, but not nearly enough for me to purchase another bottle or take another sip.
Two and a half glasses
External Reviews for Jacob's Creek
This Australian wine displays ripe plum and pepper flavors balanced by oak tannins, which will continue to develop with further cellaring. Pair this up with red meats, game and cheeses.
Smooth and open-textured, with cherry and savory red pepper flavors that mingle effectively on the mineral-tinged profile, lingering against refined tannins on the long, expressive finish. Drink now through 2014.
Firm and focused, noble in structure, with minty blackberry and blueberry flavors that persist on the fine, dry finish. Drink now through 2008.
Round and supple, this shows relatively moderate ripeness, which means black fig and green peppercorn flavors that keep it fresh. A good, firm red for anything off the grill.
Juicy, jammy and ripe. Bursting at the seems with blackberry, cassis and spicy red fruits. Mild pepperiness keeps your palate awake as smooth mocha rounds out on the lingering finish.
This premium, full bodied wine is an outstanding example of South Australian Shiraz, displaying an intensity of ripe plum with pepper spice, balanced by soft grape and oak tannins, leading to a lingering smooth finish. An ideal accompaniment to most red meats, game and cheeses. A wine that will develop further with cellaring.
Smooth and generous, a polished style with blackberry and cherry flavors at the center, persisting into a fine-grained finish. Drink now through 2006.
