Infinitus Malbec Patagonia 2008

Member Review by enotheque:

Really pleased with this 85% Malbec, 15% Syrah from Vistalba. Beautiful cold-climate style red, with delicious strawberry, blueberry, ripe plums, all with a sense of balance, considerable body and depth. 25-day maceration period contributes to this, but I love the contemporary, zero-oak approach to this one. The Infinitus Malbec from Vistalba is just one of many examples of the current trend to watch for--great quality for value currently being front and center in wines from Rio Negro, Neuquen, San Juan and of course in the northwest with Salta. These regions are determined to impress the export markets with their Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Torrontes and cold-climate versions of Malbec.
