Hunt Country Vignoles 2009

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

This semi-dry wine pairs well with sharp cheeses and spicy foods (try Cajun, Alsatian, Asian, Mexican - even pizza), as well as pork and other white meats.

Spicy and flavorful, with vibrant citrus and tropical fruit flavors combined with a semi-sweet finish. The natural acidity helps produce a wine with character, depth and backbone. Serve with sharp cheeses, spicy foods (especially Cajun and Asian) as well as pizza. It stands up to the hottest foods and cuts the heat!

This French grape is well-suited to the climate in the Finger Lakes, and delivers a veritable tropical fruit salad of semi-sweet pineapple, melon and apricot flavors. Just look for the signature blue bottle and silvery label.

Vignoles is a flavorful, semi-sweet wine (4.0% residual sugar). The Vignoles grape grows especially well in the soil and cool climate of the Finger Lakes region. Natural acidity enhances the semi-sweet finish to produce a wine with character, depth and backbone, not unlike an Alsatian Gewürztraminer. Serve with sharp cheeses, spicy foods (Cajun, Alsatian and oriental) as well as pizza.

Brisk and bright in the glass with tart flavors of peach and floral aromas to match; chill a bottle to liven up your first spring picnic.
