External Reviews for Hardys Whiskers Blake Classic Tawny
Pale reddish amber color. Medium-bodied. Caramel brown spice baked apple. baked caramelized aromas. Sweet rich flavors with spice on the finish.
Sweet and silky balancing its roasted hazelnut coffee and bitter chocolate flavors with a thread of cherry. The finish lingers gently. Drink now.
Pinkish amber. Spicy redcurrant and toffee aromas are complicated by orange peel molasses and fresh rose. A delicate and nicely focused tawny with toffeed apple and pear flavors and an exotic blood orange quality emerging on the back. This rather understated port shows good finishing lift and a lingering salted caramel character.
Succulent and smooth, this tremendously complex tawny is layered with caramel, walnut, coffee, almond and orange peel flavors, long, elegant and spicy in the mouth. All this and wow, what a price andmdash; this wine could double as a best buy.
Dinner’s over the children are asleep and you just finished snow blowing the driveway now’s the time to relax and treat yourself to a glass or two of Port and a fine cigar. Mahogany in color this eight year old tawny is decadently rich and sweet highlighted with caramel aromatics and flavors. Enjoy the moment you deserve it.

Every year, one or more Aussie Ports stands out for offering tremendous style, flavors and complexity at a moderate price. This time itandrsquo;s Hardys Whiskers Blake, named for a local pioneer. He must have liked smooth, succulent wines layered with caramel, walnut, coffee, almond and orange peel flavors, long, elegant and spicy. All this and wow, what a price.
