Gérard Bertrand Grand Terroir Tautavel 2008
Gérard Bertrand is a winner in every sense: We were named European Winery of the Year in 2012, the 2008 Grand Terroir Tautavel received 90 pts. from Wine Spectator. Tautavel, which means the Cradle of Humanity, is a wine from the Côtes du Roussillon Villages appellation at the heart of the vineyards of the South of France, situated inland from Perpignan in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Gérard Bertrand has built an exclusive partnership with the wine growers of this appellation to produce this must-have wine. It offers the essence of blueberry, displaying touches of spicy elegance and a luscious mouthfeel. Very pure and well-structured, with a long, cocoa powder-infused finish. Drink through 2018.
Rich, deep, ripe berry flavors with soft tannin and a leathery finish. Received as a gift but would definitely buy again in the $15 range. Would be great with a steak.
External Reviews for Gérard Bertrand Grand Terroir Tautavel
A wonderful bouquet of ripe fruits (blackcurrants, blackberries), crystallized fruit and spices. The wine offers depth on the palate and a pleasant sweet finish with long tannins and light spices.
