External Reviews for Fonterutoli Chianti Classico
There’s a sweetness to this red, with flavors of black cherry, cedar and incense joined by a hint of chocolate. Supple, with underlying tannins and a long finish. A modern style. Best from 2013 through 2020.
A beautiful wine from a great vintage, this reasonably-priced Chianti Classico opens with soft tones of ripe cherry and red fruits backed by spice, leather and chocolate. The wine shows lush, smooth opulence on the soft yet persistent finish.
The 2010 Chianti Classico shows lovely depth and power in its expressive dark cherries, plums, spices, menthol and licorice. Clean veins of minerality give the wine its considerable focus and energy. This is an especially understated wine from Fonterutoli, but it works. A clean, vibrant finish of stone fruits, flowers and spices resonates on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
