External Reviews for Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet la Romanée Premiere Cru
Lovely and supple, with some beautiful citrus, honey and ripe fruit character. Full-bodied, the toasty spice brings out the wine; there is thickness on the midpalate to attract the white Burg fan. Drink now through 2006.
Pears, apples and white peaches are found int eh nose of the 1999 Batard-Montrachet. Medium-bodied, broad, plump, and rich, it offers spice and white fruit flavors in its fresh character. Its finish is somewhat tight, yet it does now reveal the dry, chalky characteristics found in some of this vintage's wines. Projected maturity: 2002-2008.
