Tasting Notes: This dark-red Carmenère leaps forward from the glass with aromas of berries, a touch of vanilla and its fine tannins. Percentage Grape: Carmenère Soil: Lime -stony soils. Well drained soils. Growing Climate: tempered, with defined seasons. Type of Harvest: 100% hand picked Vinification Method: Fermented with a peak of 30°C the first day and at 25°C the rest of the time to keep the fruit and the softness. 8 days of maceration to get the appropriate structure and length. Vinification Temperature: 30/25°C Malolactic: Malolactic fermentation done. Alcohol Percentage: 13 % PH: 3.7 Sugar Rate: 0-5 g/l Total Acidity: 4,2 - 5,0 g/l
Honeyed aromas with flavors of apricot and honey. Surprisingly lightweight frame--good for those who find Gewurztraminer too overpowering. Best with spicy food, though still a bit off-dry.
A pleasant nose - hints of violets, limes and roses with similar flavours on the palate only more focused and noticeable. Hints of sweetness balance the wine but this is not a full in-yer-face Gewurz some can verge on the soapy, almost violent in intensity and spicy sweetness. Very Bordeaux-like. Aromas of cassis, pencil lead, and green pepper. Smooth, integrated tannins. Plenty of cassis and pepper in the midpalate. Solid effort.
