External Reviews for Elk Cove Pinot Noir Willamette Estate
This is a fine introduction to an outstanding Oregon Pinot Noir vintage. Forward and instantly accessible, it plays off pretty cherry fruit flavors and aromatics. Tannins are fully ripe and the acidity has kept pace.
Vivid ruby. Black raspberry, musky flowers and anise on the nose. Juicy and light on its feet, offering slightly jammy dark berry and cherry flavors and a touch of spiciness. Closes with good breadth, a touch of warmth and gentle sweetness. This fruit-centric pinot would be good with a light chill.
Fresh and vibrant, showing polish to its currant and blackberry flavors. Finishes with density and finesse. Drink now through 2020.
This wine’s dark cherry aromas are supported by a pronounced oak frame, as dark as bitter chocolate. It’s intense and brooding, with oak playing more of a supporting role in the texture and flavor. Cellar and let the wood settle for a year.
