Ehlers Merlot St. Helena Napa Valley 2007

External Review:

Rating: 88/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. While sweetened by lots of rich oak and bare hints of baked brownies, this wine is first and foremost defined by its deep and persistent black cherry fruit, and that fruit fights its way past a full dose of gruff, young finishing tannin. There is no doubt but that this one wants at least a few years of aging, and it has the fruity substance to easily survive the time needed for its toughness to ease.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Cellar for future drinking. Wine will improve with bottle aging.
