Earthquake Syrah 2009

Member Review by blindedzeppelin:

The Michael David Syrah was excellent..silky smooth...like butter. Like the name (earthquake), it has an intense, and unique flavor. Not too sweet, just right. Furthermore, it is not oaky at all, which I like. The aftertaste is very nice as well. For $20, it is highly recommended. If you like Syrah's, you WILL like this.

Lighter, very berry, med spice. Nice after decanting.

90 Points - Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines"By Michael and David Phillips. Beware. This superrich, fully loaded, heavily extracted Syrah is going to set you alight with its deeply packed aromas of blackberry jam, dark chocolate, seared-edge brownies and roasted vanilla beans, and its flavors take no back seat when it comes to stuffing either. Balance and easy use as a table wine are less evident, but, if bold and viscous, chocolate-flavored Syrah is your heart's delight, then step right up because this full-bodied wine delivers." -, Mar 08
